Yangwang U9 — Jumping Supercar

The Yangwang U9, an electric supercar by BYD Auto's luxury brand Yangwang, debuted at Auto Shanghai in April 2023 as the lineup's second model.

Designed by Wolfgang Egger, a former chief designer for Alfa Romeo, Audi, and Lamborghini, the U9 set a top speed of 391.94 km/h, becoming the fastest Chinese mass-produced car. Powered by four electric motors with 960 kW (1,290 hp) and a range of 450 km, it accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 2.36 seconds and charges from 30% to 80% in about 10 minutes. Its individual wheel drive system manages traction loss or punctures, while the "DiSus" suspension adjusts wheel clearance and performs vertical jumps.

Mass production began on August 16, 2024.
